BUS - TRAIN LIGHT RAIL AUTO FOOTPATH |
|
A QUICK ATM STOP Maybe you've seen the new commercial where the fellow jumps out of his car and runs up to the ATM and gets his money and jumps back into the car with his friends hooting and hollering as the light is changing? That, I presume, is a New York minute. You've heard of the New York minute in that old Eagles song. At least this story doesn't have that song's sad ending. The other day I was sitting on NJ Transit bus #1292 when, after a passenger got off and another passenger got on, the bus driver left all 16 of us passengers sitting on the bus while she headed to the Bank of America where we were parked. Now, maybe the bus driver simply spotted something the disembarking passenger left behind and ran to return it. Or, it's possible that the bus driver needed money to buy coffee on her next break at the fine dining establisment in the Branch Brook Park station of the Newark City Subway? Maybe she just left the sixteen passengers sitting on the bus because she could? None of other passengers seemed to give it a second thought. -- Happy Trails ---- Anthony
