BUS - TRAIN LIGHT RAIL AUTO FOOTPATH |
|
Blunt Meets Einstein Do youngsters still use pick-up lines in the dating scene? Anyway? I was thinking of that and if they did, would a young guy on the Path train, for instance, look at a beautiful stranger and say, "May I be Blunt?" meaning of course, not coarse, but James Blunt, the fellow who sang the song about the beautiful woman on the subway. Then she would think that he thinks that the song could be about her. Meanwhile, on the ride home, I was wondering, is it cold in here on Path car 618? There seems to be a draft, a breeze is hitting my head and it feels like there's a window open somewhere across the crowded car. Where my exposed hand is holding the upright support pole, my hand is both cold and numb. Meanwhile, my other hand has gone numb holding OUR ROOTS ARE DEEP WITH PASSION, a thick paperback - not a bustier buster - that defies you to turn the page with one hand. That got me wondering. When Albert Einstein lived in Princeton, I wonder if he commuted on the train to New York or Washington. Although he came up with his relativity theory much earlier, do you think he could have extrapolated it to include that the bigger hurry you are in the slower the train seems to run? Or the later you are running, the earlier the train is and has come and gone. That's relativity. On Path car #618, the more you try to find a spot to read a book or newspaper, the more likely the light will dim when the train stops moving. Or when your hand is going numb from holding onto a cold metal 'strap' that's when the entire train moves in slo-mo and a minute seems like an hour. And an hour is an eternity. That's what we need, a rail line from here to eternity. --Happy Trails ---- Anthony Copy here Entire contents Copyright © 2005-2007 By Anthony Buccino. All rights reserved.Permissions & other snail mail: PO Box 110252 Nutley NJ 07110 |
