BUS - TRAIN LIGHT RAIL AUTO FOOTPATH |
|
LIGHT RAIL Ever notice that the words that replaced subway in Newark City Subway are a misnomer?First of fall, think back, and you'll realize that the Newark City Subway did not run entirely below the way or sub-way. Now, along comes the term light rail and it's more of the same, isn't it? For one thing, the rails are very heavy. I bet it would take at least ten hapless commuters to lift one rail. (Not that they'd want to lift a rail, but that's not the point here.) And another thing you may have noticed is that all the light rails you see are always bolted in place to light rail road ties. Oh, and don't get me started on the tradition of men wearing ties. It's Friday. Take the long way home. Enjoy the weekend. --Happy trails, ---- Anthony
